Hi Ryan :)

I found your vid on extracting muka after hours and hours of searching thru vast screeds of stuff online about harakeke and muka.  Wow, what a relief to finally see such a straight-forward and easily comprehensible video that showed me exactly what I needed to know!

I am a carver who loves fishing and am currently working on a pa kahawai carved from driftwood inlaid with paua for the shank and a bone barb.  I'm nearly finished the barb and needed to figure out how to bind the parts together so I searched... and searched.. and searched for info on how to make muka line and cordage.  Well now, thanks to you, I am one step closer to finishing my pa kahawai fishing kit!

HiS Ryan, thanks for  your invite to be involved, my  background is as follows. Most of my working life has been as a professional seaman. I Have been doing leatherwork for about 40 years and also specialise in ropework and rigging. I have access to leather and cordage of all different types and construction and may be of some assistance to your other members.  Looking forward to hearing from you. Regards Mike Knight

Hi Ryan

Thanks for the invite. Relatively new in country and still finding my feet. Great that there are people like you able to do this sort of thing, most folk who know me back in blighty agree electrotrickery is not my strong point but will make effort to learn to navigate site and also get involved, over here, in the bushcraft scene as I find out what and where things are happening and make new friends on and of the trail.

Thanks again
