Canterbury Bow woods.
Hey im new to the site and was just wondering if anyone in the Canterbury region knew of any good bow wood sources(Specific Woods and where)?.Am keen to find and work with new woods .My Grandfather whos a bowyer is coming back from England this October/November .And would be good for me to have some wood for him for when he gets back so we can get strait into it when he arrives. Cheers :)

I would suggest Willow as a good wood candidate for a bow. Head out to the Waimak and have a look around by the willows. Bound to find a nice limb suitable for the job lying around.
