Haha I get what you mean about the health arena, I am still doing my training so I'm largely sheltered for the time being thank goodness.
I don't like backpacks that much either so I usually just wear one till I find a good camp site, set up, then explore with my satchel.
There really are some great kit ideas out there, one purpose of this site is to bring all that together. Still early days but I really think it has potential and I'm willing to put the work in.
What do you prefer to hunt? Is tracking involved? Tracking is one thing I'm looking forward to developing in the future
