Hi everyone,

im steve. im originally from wales. i left there in 1996. i have always been into bushcraft. i grew up with my grandparents. my grandad (gags) as he was known taught me trapping, fishing fires and how to use a knife. although my gran wouldn't of liked a 6 year old with a knife. so a little secret of mine and gags. he had grown up in a very small village up in the hills. from a poor family he and his brothers would spend a lot of time gathing seasonal berries, fruit fishing and trapping. he would never call it poaching but he knew how to get pheasants from the local estate without a firearm.

this man was a great inspiration to me. he passed away when i was 13. at 16 i joined the british army. i served 8 years. and  i don't know bear grylls. he was t.a. part of my training was to be a army combat survival instructor (ascics) as its known. i have been to jungles of borneo a few times and done survival training with the local iban. i still have my parang. i have also done training with ray mears and andy wood.

still have most of my kit. anyone wants any advice, get in touch

steve
