Found a Possible Pot of Gold....

I have located an ancient piece of industrial machinery that is lined with what appears to be genuine flint nodules
Catch is, this thing weighs a couple of tonnes and only access to the morsels inside is through a one foot diameter hatch

They spark readily when struck with the hammer, are rounded nodules (so not chert) and have that lovely blue-grey waxy look when chipped

Now, before I start the tedious task of releasing some of these from their alien-engineered mortar, is there anyway to confirm these are genuine flint?

I await, poised with hammer and screwdriver....
Many thanks

Well, nothing heard, so got stuck in.

After an hour or so wishing I had double-jointed arms (or a small explosive charge) it turns out they're not flint as I hoped, but what looks to be a very fine chert or similar.

Still, managed to get one out and it delivers some nice blades -slices paper and fingers like a razor...

Sorry I don't know... They look interesting though.
