No hammock camping as yet but its something that i will look into as I want to have minimal impact on the bush and sleeping off the ground seems to be a step in that direction. As far as the Hillary trail goes, as I mentioned I can change dates. I've really got to get my A in to G and start planning for it. Good luck with the job situation m8.
Hi there, Brett! Thanks for the comment, and the support, my friend. I would be happy to do a buddy up and do the Hillary Trail with you. I can't as yet confirm whether the 23rd to26th is on, as I'm unable to look into the future to see if I'll be working then! Lol. Just checked out your photo's. I love your little possie. Ever done any hammock camping?

Hi Rania. Sorry to hear about your job situation. Going by your video the couple of days away was a good idea. Your video has got me thinking about a video of my own. Liked your sense of humor and the video gave me a good idea of the lay of the land as I've yet to go to Karamatura. I too am looking at doing the Hillary Trail and was planning on doing it between the 23rd and 26th October, just after long weekend. I just have to confirm I still have holidays owing (been sick lately). I am struggling to find someone to go with me so if you or anybody else is interested. If the dates are not suitable I could easily change to suit. Was just trying to avoid doing it over a weekend.
Hi Joe! Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching. If it hadn't been so wet I would have set my hammock up, too! I, too, want to do the Hillary trail. Cross fingers for this summer, hey? Take care, brother! :-)

I go to that camp site when I am trying out new gear as it's nice and handy to the car park, I usually take the item I'm trying out and a tried item just in case the new one fails for some reason. I was out there one night and the army cadets turned up too. They turned up around 9pm in the pitch black and made a lot of noise, I was up in the tree line trying out my hammock, they didn't know I was there until I went down to the stream to get some water the next day. they even walked straight past me in the morning when they were doing a orienteering exercise didn't even notice me, good old olive drab :) I even spooked some of them later in the day when I was wandering around the bush trying out my GPS. It's a good area, even a rock climbing area there too, It's part of the Hillary trail. I want to do the Hillary trail this summer, but got some gear I want to try out first. Good to see you had a good time.
