There seems to be a whole lot of opinions being thrown about on this. Radio live, Keith Stewart, 10pm-1am. Saturday. You can catch some of the archives from the last 7 days.

I've heard stuff about the potential for population control and decreasing vitamin levels in food. Or just being able to control populations rapidly in any way or form. Of course this is all just speculation. But there is no doubt that this does hand over a lot of control.

Codex Alimentarius Commission

Contrary to the propaganda, Codex Alimentarius has nothing to do with consumer protection. Codex is about the economic ambitions of multi-national corporations, in particular, the pharmaceutical industry and toxic chemical industry.

Using their multi billion-dollar marketing budgets, these industries have launched a massive media propaganda campaign to paint Codex Alimentarius as a benevolent tool of “consumer protection”, as well as to negatively taint the image of natural health options and mislead people to fear them as “dangerous”, so they will take drugs (which really are dangerous). Natural health products have an amazing safety record and are remarkably effective, especially when compared to pharmaceutical drugs.

Whats the status of the bill now?

Yes it is the food bill.

 

It is 400 pages long, regardless of the exact ins and outs this bill is going to begin a long time of erosion of our freedoms, this bill is very controversial, and the government knows it, hence the reason that it is being read in during the Christmas holidays when a heck of a lot of our population is away from technology or is not listening to the radio and reading papers or watching Campbell Live, do you honestly think that it has just happened to be the way it worked out, was the anti-smacking bill not enough for people to realise that they will bring in what ever they want how ever they want regardless of public opinion, we are being forced to pander to the whim of the government, and in turn they are forced to pander to the WTO.

Look into some of the things on you tube etc, that have happened in the USA, since the introduction of a near duplicate bill in their country.

 

Until we realise that the 'Conspiracy theorists' are not just full of it, and the sooner we realise we are only feed the information that they want us to have, we will be totally and completely controlled, we will be told what we can buy and when we can buy it and for how much, the producers of the product will be told how much they are going to be paid for it and who they can sell it to, if they do not like it, tough.

 

And if you do not think that this is playing into big corporate hands think again, anyone remember 'Enron'.

 

Sorry I may not be writing this on the correct site, I just thought that we may have an interest in trying to prevent governmental and corporate control of one half of our food supply. And as you can possibly tell, I am strongly concerned about the possibilities of what this bill may mean, they say they are not aiming it at the average person, but why does it need to be written in then, if it is not going to be used or enforced it does not need to be law.

I couldn't find a link to the actual Bill in any of the links, but might have missed it.

Is it the Food Bill that's of concern?  (The full text of everything in the Bill can be read at that link.)

My problem with it is that they are saying it is not to stop the public from being able to grow food for their own consumption, but that the parameters are so broad that they will have the power to if they want. All it is going to take is one permitted company in NZ to feel they are not making a big enough profit to make a complaint, and as it is in law the police will be obliged to follow the law and act upon it. We no longer have a law system that acts on anything other than the letter of the law, even if they feel it is wrong they are forced to act on what is written, not moral or ethical values.

Onc it is entrenched in law, it will be virtually impossible to overturn the bill, and the longer it is law the more accepted it will be. They will not act on it in the initial stage, they will wait until it has been accepted and people start forgetting about it, then they will begin to protect the profits.

We are so accepting of what we are told here in NZ, we do not act. As my dad keeps saying "Well what can you do about it ", it is this type of Kiwi attitude which means we are going to be completely controled in all aspects of our life eventually, all in the name of profits.

Conspiracy is a catch phrase that governments and the like have used to lull us into believing that people who have seen the bigger picture are just antagonists, and that that will never happen, but all of a sudden.

The word conspiracy has been used for years during world wars and the like to describe the likes of traitors actions etc, as a consequence we believe that when they use this word, when defending their plans etc, we become almost fearful of what it may mean, and THEY KNOW THIS.....

From my reading of it i don't see it as terrifying. We can still consume our own food and i cant see it as a direct threat.  But as you said, what happens next? Get ready for explosion of conspiracy theories
