The other thing I have been using is the Budget brand firestarters, just scrap a little on the top of them and strike with a firesteel, will burn for like 5 mins. When you make some vaseline cotton ball starters do not put on to much vaseline or else I have found them difficult to light with a firesteel. I have even melted the vaseline and soaked cotton make up pads in it, light great and burn well with a lighter but do not like starting with a firesteel.

I'm a huge fan, I keep some in a little in a little pill container the ones you get prescriptions in. Small compact and I can use the vaseline on my lips if they get sunburnt or cracked as well.

Do you use it?
