Hi there.
I intend to starting planning bushcraft type gatherings, or moots as we called them in the UK, over here in NZ.
These will take the form of informal get togethers with the intention of identifying what it is people would want from this type of activity.
Initially this may have to be at a chosen DOC site (always cheap but cheerful) whilst other options are sourced.
Please note, as said above, these are to be informal information and social events in the first instance, but I feel this is an important first step.
Due to the difficulty in ever trying to organize anything like this, I will set date, time, and venue to suite myself to ensure this happens and if no one else shows any interest or commitment I am able to get out and enjoy myself whilst at the same continuing to offer this type of event, to get something going in our beautiful countryside.
Regards and more to follow.

Good idea.

Let us know when your planning this. We don't need to be numerous for this.

Great idea Simon. Seems a bit of a hard thing to pull in the numbers here in NZ but I would be very interested.

That sounds like an awesome idea Simon! I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, it might get the site active again!

Depending on location and time etc. I would love to do a get together of some sort.

I know you said that you would choose the location and stuff but maybe we could do what was done a few years back ( I wasn't on here at the time) and have a get together at camp kaniwhaniwha at mt Pirongia.

Hope it works out.
