Interesting! I see how this would come in handy with murky NZ streams. It would pack light (when dry) and small, and I just is would be used as a nag for non sharp objects if need be...gotta love multi-use items =)

The bag is the filter.. Nothing is inside except the water to be filtered.

The bag is a heavy canvas and filters out all of the turbidity in the water. To further pruify the water you need to treat it or boil it.

They are called a 'Millbank' Bag and yep it's army surplus....

Whats in the bag to act as a filter? Is it an army surplus item?
