I agree about Camelbak military packs. They are very very well made with well thought out features and they also use very very good quality components and fabric. I have a Motherlode which I use daily for my office stuff as well as bush stuff and it's been excellent in every say. Pricey when new I found mine BNWT on Trademe for a fraction of the new price. If you hunt around its possible to find them a lot cheaper than RRP especially if it's an older model.

For a larger 'Bergen' I've been using an Old issue SAS/Para Bergen for the last few months and have been enjoying that. It's extremely simple to work out of and as tough as old boots.
Down sides is that it's heavy when unladen as the frame is steel tube. But for short jaunts and over nighters it's fine...

Ian is correct Karrimor PRI sabers are good packs I've had a Sabre 45 and it was ok.
The current distributor of Karrimor PRI is I believe trying to exit the range here in NZ so some bargains might be around. I know they have stock of the 45 and the 30 l models...

Cheers

John

I've had a webtex pack for 5 years now. They are ok for a starter pack but there is no support in the back and the shoulder straps are not at all comfortable. The back length is really important as John says. Its worth spending a little more for the extra comfort. I bought a Karrimor sabre 45 recently and I use the webtex side pockets on it. I'll never need another pack!

yeah mate i can get you one, you would be better off with one like my one the short back version. they are the same 120 ltr compacity and good size for moving around in the bush as the tall backs wiil hit branches and shit like that. they are the ultimate outdoor pack!

Kieran,

If you're looking to get one make sure you get the correct back length. They come in short and long.
Gun city has some All arms bergans for sale currently on TM they can take the zip on Rocket Packs also.
