yes, the bow is made from privet- chinese tree privet and shiny leaf privet are invasive weeds here in New Zealand. They are common and grow quite big- they make good bow wood in my opinion.

This is the latest bow that I have made- it's made from a privet sapling and draws 50# at 28".

It's finished with danish oil.

The string is linen.
