I just signed up for your today.

I really enjoyed Te Hopo and Kiwi Bowhunter's Stories about hunting Possums and Goats in New Zealand--as well as the neat little Shacks, and clever Knife and Gun Modifications Te Hopo does.

They haven't been by some of the regular s lately, and I was Googling to find if they posted anywhere else.

If you have a distinctive Handle that you use around--mine's "RVM45"--Stick it into Google sometime. Of course, if your handle is "Maglight" you may not get much play.....

But I've seen some of my posts quoted on s that I had not only not been too--but hadn't heard of.

If I read the situation right, y'all have lots of Wilderness--or at least, undeveloped land. Looks like a very pretty country.

Y'all been hit kinda hard by the Earthquakes.....

And your Gun Laws--though not Ideal, are much less restrictive than some counties.

Anything else that I need to know--Please clue me in.

Thanks

Hi Robert yes NZ is mainly rural with a handfull or larger cities, our entire 4.3 million population is smaller than many cities overseas! The south Island has a lot more unexplored wilderness with several large mountain ranges.

Yes one city in the South Island, Christchurch, continues to be affected by several large and smaller ongoing earthquakes. People are still living in tents and using port-a-loos while the rebuilding process is taking place.

Our gun laws are strict in that guns are for hunting, rarely for self defense. The law around pistol ownership is very stringent. Our police don't usually carry guns except in special circumstances (they do in the boot of some cars), we have a separate armed defenders squad (like your SWAT) that gets called in if needed.

What areas of bushcraft are you in to?
